As part of an “Eco design” program I was asked to design an object using Plasmix, a material developed by an Italian company “Revet Recycling” and derived from recycling a non-differentiated waste.
Though the raw material itself has a noble cause, it is not very aesthetically pleasing ( to be entirely honest, it looks like a cheap plastic). This is why it was important to make an object which would distract the eyes from the material itself and will shift focus on something else. That’s when I got an idea for a decorative lamp.
To make the object even “greener”, I used an omni-directonal dimmable LED bulb which consumes 85% less energy and lasts 20 times longer than incandescent bulbs.
Method of production: injection molding.
