This is a project to design a flagship store for an Italian brand “La Perla”. “La Perla” is a high-end brand that sells a dream of elegant and sensual living in a form of luxirious intimate apparel. The target customer niche is elegant women (and men who shop for those women) who are confident and love their bodies.
In addition to usual space requirements (display area, storage, etc), we also introduced Made-To-Measure area to reflect La Perla’s 2014 introduction of a custom-tailored service in selected stores. Due to availability of mobile payment devices, the cash area has become portable and invisible to customers when not in use.
The design concept revolves around an idea of sensuality, elegance, artisanal heritage and Italian identity, which is a DNA of “LaPerla”. We were specifically inspired by the process of a pearl formation which translated itself into mother-of-pearl plaster finish walls for fitting rooms and Made-To-Measure area as well as by classic Italian rod iron doors which found their interpretation in a lace-like focal point made of patinated copper.
